Wiscott Christmas Tree 2008

Since Jason had guard last weekend we decided this week to go and find a tree. Since we have been together we have always had a real tree. We usually buy from this guy who comes down from Kalispell MT. I've been looking at various locations for a tree lot from Kalispell but couldn't find one. Heck I couldn't even find a tree lot period. So after much dismay we broke down and bought a fake, but knowing us we had to have a little bling so we have a revolving tree.

Check out the video.

Thanksgiving 2008

For Thanksgiving my Mom, my Grandpa, and Uncle Bob & Aunt Jackie came down from Montana. They arrived Thanksgiving Day just in time to carve "The Bird". The women went shopping Friday & Saturday. Jason & Bob went to Cabela's and watched some college football. We then took Grandpa to see Marion Staples., she is a cousin of my Grandma Martha, who lives here in Sandy. She is 93 years old but you wouldn't know it unless you asked her. And my Grandpa is 85. They both say "Its that Norwegian blood them that keeps them going."

First Ski Day

Jason went for opening day at Brighton last Wednesday with Sandy Bostic of course they forgot the camera but overall they had a good time. They only lasted until noon both agreed that they were out of shape. Jason even sat in the hot tub twice that day.

Busy Weekend

I'm not even sure where to start for this weekend.

Friday night I had Book Club at the house, or as Jason likes to call it "Nerd Night". Then Saturday I went to Tamara Bostic's for recipe exchange, which by the way was mighty tasty. Also Saturday night Jason had ordered the UFC Fight - Couture vs Lesnar. So when I got back from Bostic's we had a house full here watching the fight. And then of course Sunday NFL football started at 11am, and then Jason had hockey and that was the end of our weekend.

Master Sargeant Wiscott

As many of you know Jason has been in the military for 15 years.

Jason was recently promoted to Master Sargeant. Which if you are in the military you know that's pretty good for an enlisted guy. So congratulations Jason I'm very proud to call you Master Sargeant Wiscott.

Since his new rank he is also joining a new unit. So I got to pin him in front of his new unit.

Apolo Anton Ohno

Back in 2002 when the Olympics came to SLC. I volunteered and was assigned out at the Olympic Oval for long track speed skating . Ever since then I have been asked to volunteer every now again for short & long track competitions at the Oval. Last winter I got to meet Apolo Anto Ohno this was after his Dancing with the Stars debut. This weekend I will be helping out again with short track, but since Apolo is racing I doubt I get a picture.

Ravens QB and The Averno's

Jason's sister Amber and family (Sisto, Maddy, Sisto jr) were at a Hunt Valley Mall in MD and ran into Joe Flacco the new Baltimore Ravens QB.

Alpine Loop & Cascade Springs

Last Saturday Jason and I went for motorcycle ride up Immigration Canyon. Made a few stops on the way the most important "Ruth's Diner". Love that place a must for everyone.

Then headed over to East Canyon and down Parley's. We stopped at Altaview Hospital our friends Carl & Rachel had a new addition to their family Reagan Olivia Coles. Sunday we headed out on another motorcycle ride but with our friends Sandy & Tamara Bostic who own a scooter. We started up Suncrest and then over to Alpine and ending at Cascade Springs. The weather was great and the fall colors we just starting to come out.

Labor Day 2008

So Jason and I decided that the new car needed a test drive so we headed to Three Forks, MT for Labor Day weekend. Made a pit stop in Dillon and hit the Patagonia store for the Labor Day Sale, Jason got 2 dry wick shirts and I got a new fleece. Then we headed the back way thru Twin Bridges and Whitehall, oh what memories of driving that while in school at Western. Many of trips to Three Forks and Clancy.

We started off the weekend golfing. Then headed up to Clancy. Cassidy, John, Georgia came from Seattle so of course we had to check out little Georgia. What a little cutie she is.

The next day after another round of golf we headed into Bozeman to check out the sales with no sales tax. That night for dinner we headed out to Cattlemen's Cafe, and just a FYI this is a Livestock yard. So the steaks we had for dinner were probably the freshest Jason has ever ate, he is ready to head back there just for another steak. So if you are ever in the Three Forks area we recommend a stop you won't regret it.
